What are options to replace missing teeth?
At Keele Major Mac Dental Centre, Dr. Jacqueline Ha and her associates will consult with you to determine if dentures or bridges or dental implants are the most suitable for you. While dental implants are becoming increasingly accepted to many patients as compared to dentures, dentures are still viable options for patients who cannot afford or biologically not suitable for dental implants.
There is a big difference in cost for dentures and dental implants. Dental implants typically are more expensive than dentures and take a longer healing time to construct them. Various dental insurances may not cover for dental implants but they might cover in full or a portion of the dentures.
Therefore, you need to consult Keele Major Mac Dental Team prior to the decision, having dentures or dental implants.
Conventional dentures are typically removable, however may different denture designs now allow you to receive a hybrid mechanism in which the denture fits on tops of multiple implants and you can take to clean from time to time, either at home or in dental visits. Traditional dentures rely on bonding or clasping onto the natural teeth or dental implants. The dentures that replace all of your teeth are called removable complete dentures, while partial dentures replace only some of the missing teeth in your mouth.
How does the denture procedure work?
The denture process typically takes about five to six weeks or may be longer and may involve several dental appointments. Dr. Jacqueline Ha and her associates at Keele Major Mac Dental Centre will determine the best treatment process.
Typically, there are four steps in the whole process:
Step 1: Initial Impression & Jaw Measurement
Your first appointment begins with taking alginate impressions of your teeth and measuring the relationship between your upper and lower jaws. These records form the foundation for creating your personalized dentures.
Step 2: Wax Model & Bite Registration
After the impressions are taken, wax models are prepared to shape your future dentures. On your second visit, Dr. Jacqueline Ha or her associates will record your bite and jaw position using wax rims and bite registration to ensure accuracy.
Step 3: Try-In & Teeth Arrangement Check
At this stage, the denture teeth are set up on a wax base so you can preview the shape, colour, and alignment. Once you’re satisfied with the look and comfort, the dentures are sent to the lab for final processing. Note: no shade or design changes can be made after this point.
Step 4: Final Denture Delivery
On your final visit, you’ll receive your completed dentures. Dr. Jacqueline Ha or her associates will carefully check the fit and comfort, making minor adjustments to relieve any pressure spots and ensure a natural feel and confident smile.
Step 5: Readjustment Appointment
You may need to return for a fifth visit to readjust your dentures after wearing them for a few days. This is completely normal and very common among denture wearers as your mouth adapts to the new appliance.
After a while wearing dentures, you may have to use adhesive to get the dentures secured in place. Dentures do run the risk of slipping while eating or speaking, thus denture adhesive is recommended. On the other hand, dental implants are fixed and surgically implanted into the jawbone therefore the dentures will be well secured into place and less chance to dislodge.
My family and I have been coming here for years. The staff are wonderful & the atmosphere is always warm and welcoming.I am terrified of needles and pain, and had an implant procedure today which I have been putting off for years due to the fear! Dr. Ha & her team went the extra mile to make sure I had a pleasant experience despite my fears. She put on relaxing music to help me calm down & stay relaxed during the entire procedure and constantly made sure I was doing okay.
I highly recommend Dr. Ha if you are looking for a new dental professional to take care of your teeth & make you smile.

I had very crooked teeth and went to few dentists to ask about options to straighten my teeth. My aunt told me to come here and I came to check out. The receptionist was very nice, helpful, and knowledgeable. She helps me feel at ease because I am scared of the dentists. To my surprise, Dr. Ha is a very fun and friendly dentist. She spent lots of time and explained in details what I need to do to take care of my teeth during the time I wear braces. I was so scared when I had to remove my four teeth in order to resolve my crooked teeth. Dr. Ha did it so fast, no pain and I was very comfortable with her. Dr. Ha also placed braces on my teeth and now I have beautiful straight teeth, done earlier than I expected and I am so thankful that she is my dentist.
I strongly recommend all the clients I meet at my work place to see her for any dental treatment they need. Dr. Ha is truly a five star dentist with her exceptional skills, profound depth of knowledge and a great sense of humour. I highly recommend her. 😉😉😉

This dental centre has longer operating hours then most clinics in Vaughan which accommodate to my availabilities. The dentist and their associate are very nice and knowledgeable in their work of specialty. The staff at the dental centre are very professional and welcoming. They take on new clients and they have appointments after 6 p.m on weekdays.
I recommend all families and neighbours to give this dental centre a chance to work on your teeth if you live in this area of Vaughan.
